A reminder that the Federal Government Sustainable Development Analysis Tool (SADT) is accessible in English and French for use by the public. Designed for managers responsible for the environmental remediation of federal contaminated sites, the SADT provides a way to evaluate various environmental remedial options (many of which are described as part of the complementary online tool: Guidance and Orientation for the Selection of Technologies (GOST)).
In six stages, you will perform an evaluation that will enable you to:
- identify and understand the various environmental, social and economic factors and their interactions, which can affect the success of a remediation option;
- make an informed decision about the type of technology that you should use to remediate federal sites, while enhancing the beneficial aspects and mitigating the adverse impacts;
- Based on various sustainable development criteria, this interactive analysis grid enables you to independently calculate effectiveness for each of the environmental, social and economic dimensions.
The SDAT can be used on a variety of contaminated site projects and a free account can be easily created at https://oadd-sdat.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca.
